Salman Rushdie also lashed out at the organisers of the ongoing Kolkata Literary Meet (KLM) who had claimed that Rushdie was never invited by them. "The lit meet organisers are lying when they say I wasn't invited. I have emails and plane tkt (tickets) sent by them to prove it," he said.

In-spite  of    l so many '  for and against '-opinions  about  her and  in-spite  of  my  writing  , even , 'CHORRAA'-s  about her  and  on ' Pashchim-Baana'. I  have   no  hesitation  or doubt  in  writing  that  she   has  a  character  that  is  not  afraid  of  any  situation  or   Celebrity.  When  she  decides,  she  has the  guts  and  spirit   to  shoulder  it  herself  .I know  a little  bit  about  how  many  literary talents  are  fishing  on the   water  of  Religious or Sensual  controversies  for  a  quick  rise  to their   dreaming  goal .I  know  also, a bit  of  some so-called     drop-outs  or 'left-behind '  'Lost-Lusture-  Buddhi-jibies '  who   are   ever  anxious   to be   seen  in Media- prints  or pictures  , just  to  keep  on  their  'Suspended -fame ' of yesterdays .
Sometimes  Mamata Banerjee can show  real and ' RAW  courage'  and I  admire it . Sex  and  religion  should not  be the  fishing  -bait   of  creative  Art  for  Mammon  Success.
P.S:  Free  speech  and  Literary-  expression  are,  of  course , welcome  and  necessary  for  growth in ' 'Freedom'  yet ,  social  harmony  and  commune-  life  and  community-  balance  is  the  first Essential  in  disturbed  situation of a Nation or  state . As  such   exploiting  the   advantage  of   freedom of  speech  and  expression  for  personal  and  individual  name  and  fame  should  be   measured  within the  frame -work  of  National  Harmony  and  Community  Peace .======================================
