NEW AGE POETRY

SHORT -  STORY    POEM
====================
Birth - Day  of    a  Poet    of    local  fame
only about  a  dozen  of  friend s  came
to celebrate his  80 Th.  birth  and  hear
his ' to- day's   poem .

No  Mobile;  no phone  ;  those  days
in  a  suburban  set up  ;  remote
almost  all   promised    to    come
 and  6 pm  was  the  time  arranged .

Near  his  home  there   was  a   crowd
all  talking  in  hushed   and  covered-voice
the  invitees    did   not   know ; -that  the poet  
 died of   'Stroke' ;  a few hours   before , to day !
