TROPICAL  MONSOON   VISITING   BENGAL

The  whole  of the  day
the  gloomy  face  of  sky   remains  covered  by  darkening    clouds
 And ---------
like  tears  on  the  face  of  a  deserted  lover
drip-drip - drip  ;  drop   rain -drops  all over
and  all  the  while   since  last    night    from    the  sky
in  response  ,  with  fitting  empathy  
Yet  this  whole  of  the   day, -  the    dear  Sun  is  an  absconder
with  no  sign  of   any  return  even  as  the  day  ends !

The  very green spread-wide   landscape-  face  of    earth
is  soaked    and  wet
Some time  is  heard ,-  the  saddened  breeze  all  around
almost   to  the  tune  of  a  weeping  lover left  behind !
Now  and  then ,  the   heavily thick  and  wet  leaves  near  about
respond  and  shake  up  in  vibrating  voice  of  dumb   sympathy !

A  full  night and  day's  absence  of  the  lover - Sun
is  printed  clean  and  wide
on  the    face  of  this   tropical  earth !
